Adopting Agreement and Care Basics

First off im very glad that you have chosen to make one of my friendly , healthy ratties part of your family, there are some  things i require of you to follow and understand before you take your baby/s home, its just what good owner would do, mostly whats on the agreement below is just simple guidlines of how to take great care of your pet rat(s) just in a more striaght forward manner so dont get scared. (smiles) if you wanted your pet to go to a good home you would do this too its out of love and protection
 

Basic Rat Care  

Anyone buying a rat/rats off me is required  to  follow these rules for the safety and well being of rats

• Ensure the rat(s) has fresh drinking water and are given a stable well banenced diet ( i have a good diet plan on my home page and care tips page where you can get a good idea,.
• Ensure the rat(s) lives in a clean and healthy environments.
• Ensure that the rat(s) has large enough space to move freely and to play in .
• Ensure that the rat(s) get proper veterinary care when needed(if you dont know of a vet that has expericence in rats i can give you numbers of some very good vets).
• Never abandond/give away to pet shops or sell adopted rats or PUT DOWN RATS unless i am aware and have accepted (as iv had a issue where a rat has been put to sleep without me agreeing , Putting downs is a very last step and most of the time be provented (i will take them back and either rehome them or keep them if you no long able to keep them) I do not give refunds but i expect that if you tell me you cannot any long care for the rats you adopt from me that you swiftly return them back to me!
• Always make sure you give your rats affection, playtime, and handle them daily
• Treat the rats with love and care as you would your children and supervise any children handling or caring for the
  rat(s).
• Male and female rats must not be housed together unless all the males or all the females are de-sexed in the group.
• Rats purchased from me are NOT on  any circumstances to be used for mass breeding, breeding for pet stores, or in any other manner  , or feeder breeding and/or for any food.
• Do not use pine/cedar/aspen wood shavings of
  any kind as it causes severe respiratory problems in rats.
  Please use either shredded newspaper, or care fresh bedding
  ( i will require a adoption agreement form signed from the person/s buying rats off me )and ask to have updates of the rats brought so i can know how they are going, when they die/cause, any illness and temperment turn outs
  This will Ensure that in the future i can better each line, make each litter healthier then the last and help rats live longer  happier lives)
  
  Breeding homes  
                       Girls/doe's:
  
  
  • They must not be bred more than 2 times in their life time
  • They must not be bred under 6 months old and not over 12 months if they haven't had their first litter between 6months and 8 months they are not to be bred.
  • They must have at least a 3 month break between litters, the 3month period begins after all the pups have reached 6 weeks old
  •  I require, all doe's that are brought from me that have pups should be placed in loving caring homes
    They should not be sold as feeders, feeder breeders, or to ANY pet shop.
  • After the doe has given birth, and during the doe's weaning any bucks should not be allowed to come in contact with the doe and babies, as the doe can become pregnant IMMEDIATELY after giving birth, and the pups can become pregnant/impregnate there mother/sisters at 5 weeks of age.
  • You MUST contact me first if you wish to breed any of my rats \
    (However once the doe has given birth to her litter i would like to be contacted  soon after so i can get an  insight of the birth and pups . health, personality change of mother, any birth issues).
    
    I understand there are a lot of restrictions  and rules in this listed agreement, but it is my responsibility  to insure the correct care and/or breeding of the rat breed and my lines, i do not allow my rats to be bred in any careless or incorrect manner, There is a certain amount of trust that puting into you, and i expect the same kind of respect to be given to me and my  rat(s) adopted from me. By signing this contract you are agreeing to all parts of it.
